Welcome to North Cheshire Clarion Cycling Club
North Cheshire Clarion is a Warrington based cycling club run by local cyclists for local cyclists looking to develop their own abilities, skills and interests in the company of others. Our aim is simple - to enjoy the full spectrum of cycling activities from the recreational through to the competitive, both on and off the road. If like us you want a balance of enjoyment and competition without the pressure of a pure 'racing' club, then North Cheshire Clarion is for you!Whilst we're located in Warrington in the North West of England, we focus on the whole of the North Cheshire area including Widnes and Runcorn to the west, the suburbs of south west Manchester to the east and the areas south of Wigan.
With over 230 paid up members, comprising men, women and children of all ages, interests and levels of fitness, we share our interests, knowledge and experience for the benefit of all those in the club. We don't have entry requirements and welcome riders of all abilities to the club.
Remember our mantra - "We never leave a rider behind!"
We hold regular club rides, meetings and social events and encourage particpation in all aspects of the sport with our members taking part in Sportive, Road Racing, Mountain Biking, Triathlon, Time Trial, Cyclocross, Audax and Track events.
Have a look around the site and if you're interested in finding out more, check out the FAQs, come to a meeting, join us on a ride or find out how to become a member.

Clarion riders right across the UK greet each other by saying "Boots!" and respond with the exclamation "Spurs!"The tradition originates from when Clarion newspaper editor Robert Blatchford, used to sit in his barracks late at night telling stories with friends. To make sure that their listeners were still awake, the storyteller would say 'Boots!' those still awake duly replying 'Spurs!'. Satisfied that everyone was still awake, the story would continue.
"Boots and Spurs" continues to be the Clarion call to this day and is also the name of the twice yearly newsletter sent to all Clarion members.
