Racing kicks off on the 24th Feb up at the Clayton Spring Classic, a tough handicap race around a hilly circuit in Clitheroe. Then comes the Eddie Soens road race on the 9th March. A flat out race around the racing circuit at Aintree and good chance to test yourself against some of the countries top pro’s.
For those new to road racing might fancy the day after where the first of many of the seasons races are on at Pimbo, a 3/4 is run in the morning with the elite racing coming in the afternoon. On the 24th there’s a new race organised by Pullar Racing (owned by former pro Jack Pullar) up at Cockerham, so expect hills! Again there’s seperate 3/4 and elite races on. As we get into April we can look forward to Oakenclough (hardest circuit in the country) on the 14th, Hanbury (beautiful circuit down in stafford with a summit finish) on the same day and the Frank Morgan RR on 21st, a fast flat race around an industrial site in Knowsley, usually quite popular with NCC members. Also starting in April are the mid week crits series’s with Tameside on a Tuesday, Litherland on a Wednesday and Preston Arena on a Thursday, all offering races for different standards.
